Steven Gerrard: Much More Like Us

PLEASED Steven Gerrard reckons Rangers’ 4-2 win at Ross County today was ‘much more like us’ as the Light Blues collected a merited three points.

Rampant at times here in the Highlands, Joe Aribo, Connor Goldson, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield were all on target to ensure the Light Blues head back south tonight in fine fettle ahead of their midweek trip to Armenia.

Speaking to RangersTV, Gerrard explained: "I think that was much more like us in-terms of how it looked both in and out of possession and I am a lot more happy today.

"You can see what we are trying to do out of possession quite clearly. We were really organised at times - okay, we are still trying to fine-tune that and we are still obviously waiting to get the full squad back in and settled, so we will get better in that department, but I thought we showed a lot of quality today.

"We created a lot and if James scores at the end there, it could have been one or two more.

"So going forward, we looked really dangerous. We have come away from home and got the three important points which is the main thing."

Today’s win was kickstarted by a screaming Joe Aribo finish, and on that and the Nigerian internationalist’s performance, he added: "I think that has been coming. Joe was a little bit frustrated through the week, but that is what Joe Aribo is all about - driving up to people and being aggressive, breaking the rules and it was a fantastic finish.

"We want him to keep doing that and we want him to keep adding goals and he has got the license in the midfield three when we name that three to go forward and be a bit more ambitious."
