The Light Blues manager was asked for his reaction to comments made yesterday by Celtic interim manager John Kennedy, following confirmation the appeal hearing for five Gers players facing sanctions won’t be heard until after the two clubs meet next Saturday in the Scottish Cup.
Gerrard expressed his agreement with the man in charge of the other half of the Old Firm on his call for more consistency given a number of issues affecting many clubs so far this season.
Speaking this morning, Gerrard said: "We don't control when those dates or those hearings come - we wait for the SFA to get in touch with us and we accept the first possible chance to do that.
"I agree with John [Kennedy] in-terms of the inconsistencies from the SFA as we have been speaking about that for some time now.
"If you are talking about punishments, [Boli] Bolingoli left the country at his own will, came back in and trained among his peers and went and played at Kilmarnock and put other people's health in jeopardy.
"He was given a five game ban and two suspended, so I agree with [John] in-terms of the inconsistencies.
"The Aberdeen players were given three games and they were all suspended.
"To be honest, I would probably be a bit frustrated as well if good players were available to play against my team as well next week, so I feel his pain."
The Rangers manager continued: "I am not frustrated with John's comments. He is well within his rights to have his own opinion - he has his own press conference and questions that are fired at him that he has to deal with himself.
"Nothing has really come of the Dubai trip - the only thing that has come of the Dubai trip is nobody else is allowed to go on a training camp.
"So nothing has happened from that and we obviously move on from that incident. But obviously, rules were broken on that trip in-terms of drinking together, there was no social distancing in that situation.
"But the Celtic business is not really for me to talk about - my worry and my concerns are Rangers and we will look forward to that hearing and we will deal with it as and when.
"But I definitely agree with John in-terms of the inconsistencies, especially when it comes down to punishment.
"I am the only one who knows the details of our own Covid situations, and I think a few of the things I said were taken out of context in-terms of Nathan Patterson's quotes.
"These guys have broken rules, they deserve punishment, but we don't feel as if everything has been taken into consideration because we were at the forefront in making sure we suspended these players ourselves and they missed games of football on the back of that.
"We took the maximum fine and we were really strong and foreceful in-terms of our punishments with the lads.
"So we are not trying to defend what they have done, it was my own opinion which I have my right to, I don't think there is any consistency in-terms of the outcome of the bans.
"I don't see why this set of players deserve the same or anything different to previous situations.
"It just seems as if the SFA are guessing in-terms of punishments and everything is inconsistent.
"So that is a frustration from our point of view as well."
