The young Gers were named Youth Cup champions after they defeated Hearts U18s 2-1 tonight at the national stadium in Glasgow.
Strachan expressed his absolute delight to lead his side to victory and insists the youngsters will cherish this moment forever.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after the squad were named champions, he said: “It means everything, it’s what you dream of as a young boy to win the Youth Cup final. All the boys are absolutely delighted.
“It’s a moment we’ll cherish for the rest of our lives because we won’t get to play this again, but we’ve won the Youth Cup.”
The U18s captain reflected on the match and the opportunity to play at Hampden in front of a large crowd in this memorable occasion.
He continued: “I think that we dominated the first half, I thought we could have had a couple more and we played really well. I thought that the second half was a bit poorer, but I think that’s just because of the occasion, some of us weren’t playing our own game.
“It was a good crowd, some of us haven’t played in front of that before so it was a new experience for all of us. The pitch was bigger as well which suited us at times, but towards the end some of our legs were done, but we dug in and eventually get the win.”
