The Light Blues take on Aberdeen as the Scottish Premiership gets back up and running – and Tavernier insists Gers are ready for the challenges that will come their way this season.
He told today’s press conference: "We are raring to go. It has been a long time since we have played competitive football and we are all dying for the whistle to blow tomorrow.
"It has been a long time waiting, but in that time, we have worked on a lot of stuff which we wouldn't normally so we are really excited and ready to go.
"It's important that we get on the front-foot at the start of the season. We know it is going to be a tough game going up there, and it is going to be different without fans.
"But that won't change anything - how we prepare and we have had a good pre-season, so we will go into the game full of confidence, and if we stick to the game plan, we should be coming down the road with the result we want."
Tavernier was also asked at today’s press conference about the need for players from right across the XI to help out going forward, and he added: "If you are an attacking player, you want to contribute to more goals and assists. The lads who have been playing in pre-season - Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi, have contributed to quite a few goals already.
"So the lads have been really focused since we came in on the first day. We have had a long pre-season which we wouldn't normally have and the lads have really concentrated and know what is required of them.
"I have full belief and confidence they will deliver this season."
