Team News: Beale Names His Side To Face Newcastle United

MICHAEL BEALE as named his team for Allan McGregor’s testimonial match against Newcastle United this evening.

A crowd of over 50,000 is expected at Ibrox to pay tribute to McGregor, including over 8,000 travelling fans, as the goalkeeper is honoured for his incredible Rangers career.

For Beale’s squad, it’s the first match at Ibrox as they continue to ramp-up preparations ahead of the 2023/24 season with a strong test against Eddie Howe’s side.

McGregor starts between the sticks for this match, with a back four of James Tavernier, John Souttar, Ben Davies and Borna Barisic.

Kieran Dowell, Sam Lammers and Abdallah Sima will take to Ibrox for the first time with John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Todd Cantwell completing the starting XI.

On the bench this evening are Jack Butland, Robby McCrorie, Ridvan Yilmaz, Ianis Hagi, Rabbi Matondo, Scott Wright, Leon Balogun, Fashion Sakala, Nico Raskin, Lewis Mayo, Johnly Yfeko, Alex Lowry, Bailey Rice and Cole McKinnon.
