Team News: Gerrard Names Team To Face Aberdeen

STEVEN GERRARD has named two changes to his side for what is certain to be an emotional evening at Ibrox Stadium.

Both Rangers and visitors Aberdeen will mark the sad passing of Walter Smith prior to kick-off with a minute’s silence, and already, an overwhelming number of tributes have been left at the Blue Gates outside Ibrox Stadium in his memory.

Tonight, Calvin Bassey comes in for Borna Barisic, while Glen Kamara starts instead of Steven Davis.

That means it’s a back five of Jon McLaughlin in goal with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Bassey in front of him.

Joe Aribo, John Lundstram and Kamara are in midfield, while it’s an unchanged attacking trio of Kemar Roofe, Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos.

Davis makes the bench, and there, he is joined by Allan McGregor, Jack Simpson, Nathan Patterson, Scott Wright, Fashion Jr and Scott Arfield.

It’s a 7:45pm kick-off at a very wet Ibrox. Full coverage is available on RangersTV – join Clive Tyldesley and Kevin Thomson for commentary, with Emma Dodds, Craig Moore and Neil McCann leading our pre and post-match shows - BUY & WATCH HERE
