LEANNE Crichton has named her Rangers side for this afternoon’s SPWPL opener against Montrose at Links Park.
The Gers will be seeking a positive start to their league campaign in a repeat of last season’s opening day, as they look to take momentum from their recent positive Champions League qualifying displays into the domestic action getting underway.
There are three league debuts amongst the ranks for the Light Blues as defender Kirsty Smith, Bailley Collins and Hannah Blake are all named in the starting lineup.
The side in full will see Jenna Fife start between the posts for the Gers, behind a backline consisting of Smith at right-back, Eilidh Austin and Lily Boyce in the middle of defence with captain Nicola Docherty back in the team from the off at left-back.
Collins will start on the right side of midfield, with Fallon Connolly-Jackson getting an opportunity from the get-go for the second match running and will begin on the opposite flank, with Blake and Sophie Black operating from the middle of the pitch.
Last season’s top goalscorer Katie Wilkinson will be joined by Laura Berry in attack, with the Head Coach opting for a front two on the opening day.
On the substitutes bench for Rangers this afternoon is Shu Ohba, youngster Isla Miller, Gry Boe Thrysøe, May Cruft, Calliste Brookshire, Jodi McLeary and Eva Hendle.
