GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has changed his entire team for this evening’s Premier Sports Cup second round tie against Queen of the South at Ibrox, with 18-year-old striker Robbie Ure making his first-team debut.
After Saturday’s 4-0 Scottish victory over Ross County on Saturday, the Gers boss has named a totally different line-up from the side that started against the Staggies at the weekend.
Between the posts tonight is Allan McGregor and in front of the club’s number one will be a back four consisting of 19-year-old right-back Adam Devine and Rivan Yilmaz on the left, with Ryan Jack joining 18-year-old Leon King in the centre of defence.
In midfield, the experienced trio of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield will be asked to pull the strings in the engine room with Rabbi Matondo and Fashion Sakala joining Ure in the last third of the pitch.
The forward, who scored 16 goals for the B Team and 25 for the Under-18s last season, recently travelled with the senior squad for their Champions League play-off second leg in Eindhoven and, having scored two goals this term, he will now be out to impress against the League One Doonhamers.
Several young players have also been named on the Gers bench with Paul Nsio, striker Zak Lovelace, midfielder Charlie McCann, winger Archie Stevens and left-back Robbie Fraser joining goalkeeper Robby McCrorie, James Sands, Borna Barisic and Scott Wright.
RANGERS: McGregor, Devine, King, Jack, Ridvan; Davis, Kamara, Arfield; Matondo, Ure, Sakala
SUBS: McCrorie, Sands, Barisic, Fraser, McCann, Wright, Nsio, Lovelace, Stevens
