It’s a return to league action for the Gers following their final UEFA Europa League fixture of the season against Porto on Thursday night, as they look to continue their positive domestic form of late which has saw win their last seven outings in a row.
From the lineup four days ago, captain James Tavernier, Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, and Mohamed Diomande drop to the bench, whilst Findlay Curtis has left the club to join Kilmarnock on loan. Into the side come Dujon Sterling, John Souttar, who captains the side, Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen and Thelo Aasgaard.
That means Jack Butland starts in goal, behind a back four of Sterling, Souttar, Emmanuel Fernandez and Jayden Meghoma.
Chukwuani starts his second league match on the bounce and is joined in anchoring the midfield by Nico Raskin.
Aasgaard starts in the number 10 role, with Djeidi Gassama and Skov Olsen starting on the flanks, providing support from wide areas to lone striker Youssef Chermiti, who leads the line.
On the substitutes bench for the Light Blues this afternoon is Liam Kelly, Djiga, Aarons, Tavernier, Diomande, Oliver Antman, Nedim Bajrami, Mikey Moore and Bojan Miovski.
