Tess Middag: It's About Us Playing The Way We Want To Play

TESS Middag hopes Rangers can put into practice what they have been working on in training as they prepare for the restart of the Park’s Motor Group SWPL on Sunday.

The Light Blues head to Edinburgh to face Hearts and the midfielder believes it is important Rangers impose their style of play on the game.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, she said: “We played them in Edinburgh earlier in the season and we know it will be a difficult game but it is about us playing the way that we want to play.

“Taking away the opponent, the challenge for us will be to win and play offensive football but we have to make sure that when we lose the ball we have a good structure. These are some of the things we have been working on in the last two weeks at training and hopefully we can take that on to the pitch on Sunday.”

Middag was delighted to get her first Rangers goal in last weekend’s 14-1 Scottish Cup victory over Stenhousemuir and hopes she can contribute more goals going forward.

She added: “It was a good win and we are happy to go through to the next round of the cup and in my case it was great to play 90 minutes.

“I hit the crossbar and the post before my goal so it was about time it actually went between the sticks! I was really happy to get on the scoresheet and hopefully there are a couple more to come.

“Usually I play as a six or quite defensively but I think I should be able to help the team out with goals a bit more than I have done so far but I was happy to score my first goal for this club.”
