The Light Blues were rampant in a blistering first-half showing in last night’s 5-3 win over Hearts in Edinburgh, teeing up a thrilling showdown against league leaders Hibs in Govan.
A point for the capital club would be enough to see them hoist the league trophy, but victory for Jo Potter’s side would confirm a second league title in the club’s history.
Speaking to RangersTV, the Dutch defender commented: “It will be fantastic if we could get Ibrox as full as possible.
“It’s amazing that we’re in a position where it’s in our hands and three points is what’s needed.
“It’s crucial for us as players and staff to prepare as normal, and we need to do everything right recovery wise.
“As soon as we walked on the pitch at the start of the game [last night] it felt like a home match with the number of Rangers fans.
“They kept the singing going for 90 minutes and it was a fantastic support. Hopefully we see the same on Sunday.”
On last night’s victory, Middag believes it was a game of two halves after the Gers took a resounding 5-1 victory in at the interval.
She continued: “It was a high-pressure game. We knew we needed to win – nothing less than that.
“We’re delighted that we got the win over the line, and we were happy with the result at half-time.
“Weirdly enough, I feel a bit strange because of the three goals that we conceded.
“When you look at the performance there were a few things that we could have done better, but we went there with the goal of getting three points – we knew it wouldn’t be easy – and we got that over the line.
“Did the early goal set the tone? It did, but we then conceded a goal before scoring again. There were a lot of quick momentum shifts in a short space of time.
“Fair play to our forwards who I thought were excellent and very clinical. It massively helped us.
“Fair play to Hearts also, who I have to give credit to; they made it difficult for us in possession and they’re a fantastic team. They were able to exploit some spaces and weaknesses.
“However, out of possession we were able to really hurt them. It was a really good performance from us in front of goal; five goals at half-time.
“We didn’t get a clean sheet, but it was enough to get the points over the line and that’s all that matters.”
Sunday’s league finale also marks the final league match of Jane Ross’ career.
The legendary forward announced she will be retiring from professional football at the end of the season last weekend, and Middag believes it would be the perfect send-off for Ross were she to collect another league winner’s medal.
She added: “Ever since she announced last week that she was going to retire, she told the group to finish on a high.
“If we needed any more motivation then that’s absolutely one of them, to let Jane finish off her fantastic career with a league title.”
