CURRENT FORM
Livingston returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 victory over St. Johnstone last weekend, with summer signing Dylan Bahamboula on the scoresheet.
The Lions currently lie in sixth place in the table and have yet to draw a game this season, winning five and losing five in their opening ten games.
Indeed, the West Lothian outfit boast the third meanest defence in the division so far this term, although only Ross County have scored fewer goals after the first set of fixtures.
MANAGER
December will mark two years since David Martindale was appointed as permanent manager of Livingston.
The 48-year-old has taken the Lions to a League Cup final and a top six finish since assuming the post, while his side narrowly missed out on the top half of the table after an injury time equaliser from Motherwell in the final game before the league split last season.
STYLE OF PLAY
Although Martindale has been flexible in his use of systems throughout his time in charge, the Lions have tended to play a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation this season.
Livingston’s hard-running style has been underpinned by the dynamic central midfield duo of Stephane Omeonga and former Rangers man Jason Holt.
The Lions have also benefitted from consistency of selection in the backline, with Nicky Devlin, Ayo Obileye and Cristian Montano ever-presents in the team this term.
KEY PLAYER
Joel Nouble has been a regular for Livingston this year after returning from a promising loan spell at Arbroath midway through last season.
The Englishman scored against Rangers earlier this term and he also laid on the assist for Bahamboula against St. Johnstone last weekend.
The 26-year-old is a physical presence who can either play off the left or through the middle and cause trouble for opposing defenders.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side staged a second half turnaround through goals from Scott Arfield and James Tavernier in their most recent meeting with Livingston on the opening day of the season.
Indeed, the Gers have won the last eight encounters between the two sides and have conceded just one goal in the process, which came in van Bronckhorst’s league bow as Gers boss in a 3-1 win in West Lothian last year.
