Arfield has made six appearances in the competition so far this term, scoring against FC Midtjylland in the third qualifying round, first leg in Herning on August 8.
The Canadian midfielder has therefore played a big part in helping the Light Blues progress to the group stage and he is excited to get another opportunity to sample the electric Ibrox atmosphere before and during the 90 minutes against Jaap Stam’s men.
Speaking at yesterday’s UEFA press conference, Scott said: “This is why we are in this job and why we play for this football club, to play under the lights and the demands and expectations on a European night.
“It’s one as players we are very much looking forward to as you would expect and I think we see the first game as a new challenge.
“We’ve got six huge games in this group and this is the first hurdle for us as players to go after it.
“As the manager says the home form is going to have a massive effect if we want to progress through to the next stage. So of course we want to get off to the best start possible.
“At this football club you are always under the microscope and the club has been built on tradition and success over the years.
“We have got to be the best that we can be, to win every game, and hopefully at the end of the season we’ve got something to shout about.”
Arfield was still trying to come to terms with the news that Fernando Ricksen had passed away after his battle with motor neurone disease as he answered questions from Scottish and Dutch media.
He said: “We can only echo the thoughts of the manager for Fernando’s young family. Us as players, we want to go out there and put on show and make everybody connected with Rangers Football Club smile again.”
