The Light Blues will be looking to return to winning ways after they were held to a goalless draw in their return to league action away at Hearts last Sunday.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the clash the head coach is expecting yet another tough contest against the side currently sitting seventh in the table: "I think it will be a similar challenge to the previous games that we have played in.
"We have now got a handle on most of the teams in the league having played one complete round of matches. I would imagine it will be a stiff test, at a very difficult venue in K-park. I think it will be an exciting game, but it is a game that we will have to impose ourselves on them."
Thomson admits there was a sense of frustration at the 0-0 outcome in their last outing in Edinburgh but hopes his side can show a more clinical cutting edge in East Kilbride this Sunday.
He continued: "I think the score line was a big problem for us if we want to hang on a word. We have scored several goals in the league to date. Certainly in the vast majority of the game during the Hearts game we totally controlled it.
"We just weren’t clinical in front of goal, so it is something that we have put into this week’s training is to be more clinical and show more quality in our general actions in play and not just in front of goal."
The head coach hopes the team turn their dominant displays into more goals moving forward and will be hoping for more of the same from their last outing against Motherwell where they ran out 4-0 winners.
He stated: "I think there is an absolute hunger about the squad when a team like the one we have got just now are so dominant in games. When we manage to score a lot of goals in previous games, there is a frustration element that kicks in. We need to make sure that frustration element doesn’t come into our training which it has not.
"We are at a level now where in terms of our fitness there was a statistic that came back to me from our analysis guys that we are now as fit as we have ever been. In terms of collectively as a group, but individually there are some players that are hitting some high scores.
"We just need to marry that along with some quality, and make sure when we have so much of the ball and dominate the game that we are converting the vast majority of our chances."
With the cold weather disrupting preparations this week, the club has had to use the indoor facilities at the Training Centre but is happy they have another game to look forward to, to try to get back to winning ways quickly.
He said: "Preparations have been slightly difficult in terms of the weather, so we have not managed to get out on the pitch outside this week.
"Hopefully tomorrow we will manage to get back on the outfield pitch, but we have managed to do most of our things indoors. It is great that football does that, you are only five or six days away from turning it round."
