Thomson Hopes Team Can Take Control

MALKY Thomson hopes Rangers can take control of this evening’s game against Hearts as they welcome the Edinburgh side to Rangers Training Centre in the SWPL.

After defeat on Sunday, the Gers head coach feels they need to approach the game in a relaxed manner as they look to build momentum in the final round of league fixtures.

Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “On Monday we got straight back into training and it has gone well so far and we are looking forward to the game against Hearts.

“Our enthusiasm levels will never wane at this club and I think everybody knows the importance of being at the club and the levels we need to attain and the application and the attitude has to be right.

“I am hoping they go back to doing what they have been doing. On Sunday we seemed to chase the game as opposed to control the game so there are things that we have brought up in conversation with the players so I hope that we go into the game in a relaxed manner and we play our style and our brand of football.”

With a busy period of fixtures ahead, Thomson says the physical element will come into it as he will utilise the squad.

He continued: “The physical element is going to come in, injuries may come in also but we have planned and prepared for all the different scenarios.

“None more so than the scenario we are in just now where Glasgow City are now six points ahead so we now need to gain maximum points out of the next seven games we are going to play and we need to be ready.”
