With a number of players making their return from injury in recent weeks, Thomson said competition and standards were high as they continued preparations for Sunday’s match at Petershill.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Thomson said: “Today was one of the first days we have had everyone training on the pitch, barring Jane Ross.
“That is testament to the club and the staff we have that the girls are in such good shape and they are becoming more affray with the levels of training.
“We have quite a level-headed group in terms of they are very humble and the good thing is when they do go out to train they are training at a level where they know that the competition in many respects is within our group. That level of competition to get a starting place and be involved drives it as opposed to who we are facing.
“There can be lots of ups and downs in the season and we are only 10 games in but I think the confidence that will come out of it will definitely help the team that does come out on top.”
One player who has returned to training is captain Kathryn Hill, and Thomson says she is fit and strong as she looks to get back on the pitch.
He continued: “Kathy had a major contribution at the start of the season in pre-season and leading us into the Champions League. She'll obviously have to battle and fight like any other player would have to do to get back in.
“We will definitely utilise the squad as we have done and that will continue to happen for the likes of Kathy. She is at a level where she is fit, strong, she is ready to play, and it will be a decision depending on the game as to how and when we will utilise that.”
