With nine changes to the starting XI for this match, the Gers head coach was happy the squad were able to keep their style and standards to pick-up the three points at Alliance Park.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I think it was a real good team performance. On the back of the two games against Celtic and Glasgow City we know we need to have the majority of our players playing well.
“I think the style and everything came through today, our standards are really high, especially in training and you can see that on the pitch.
“We made nine changes prior to that game but the style remained the same. I thought we were very clinical in front of goal, possibly in the second-half we could've been a little bit more ruthless so we are always wanting to up those standards and set them high.”
Thomson was pleased with the focus of his squad to ensure a dominant performance this afternoon. He continued: “We know physically we are a very very fit team, technically again you look at the players that are playing and every one of them can play in numerous positions.
“I think what was pleasing is we brought all those elements together and that is the way that we train and our methodology. We talk about technically, tactically, physically and mentally and I think the mental bit came through today and every one of those starting XI were really focused.
“They knew we were coming to the surroundings we were in today but that never phased them and they went about the task properly.
Rangers now look ahead to next Sunday’s Sky Sports Cup final against Hibs, and Thomson knows he faces some tough decisions on the starting line-up for that one.
He added: “Everyone will be wanting to start but it'll be good, that is what we want. We want every player to believe that they can start in this game and they can.
“Not just looking at this performance but performances at training and in prior games leading up to this every one of those players who has signed has made a real contribution and they'll be throwing their hat in the ring.”
