The Light Blues head into the fixture in impressive form with two vital league victories as well as booking their place in next month’s Scottish Cup final.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the match he wants his side to approach the game positively as they look to come out on top in the fixture that ended in a goalless draw when they last met back in January.
He said: “It is about making sure when we are training that we are doing it in the proper fashion, that we are training to a level that is making us all compete with each other.
“It is as simple as that we take that onto the game and we make sure when we cross the white line that everybody is there and playing for each other.
“Going into the Hearts game, we played them earlier on in the season and we obtained a draw in that game, so we know they are going to be a difficult opponent. We know that they have got stronger and stronger throughout their league campaign but so have we.
“The massive bit for us is we are now in a position where we are still playing with the same style and fashion, but we are now creating a lot clearer cut chances, ones we really should be scoring and we have been doing that.
“The girls have that confidence and the proof of concept is there, they have done it and experienced it, they went through it and we are ready for Sunday.”
The head coach states nothing will change in terms of their approach of trying to break the Edinburgh side down but says his side must take the opportunities when they fall their way on the day.
He continued: “Nothing will really change in terms our style of play, what will be evident is we will have to take our chances ,we know that it is really important when we get into situations when we get a goal scoring opportunity we must capitalise on that and take it, none more so than the games that we have played.
“In the first-half of the Glasgow City game, we probably could have been 3-0 up, the Motherwell game there in the first half we should have converted more chances, stats show that as well.
“The expected goal ratio should be a lot better than what it was, although throughout this season we have actually improved on that stat.”
Thomson says his side showed ‘real mental resilience’ in their recent wins as they get set for their next challenge at Broadwood Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
He added: “Every game that we play there is a different challenge in it, certainly now we are going into the last seven games first of which is going to be Hearts come Sunday.
“It is going to pose us some real problems that we are going to have to overcome, but credit goes to the staff and those who are around myself and the team that our preparation has been good, we have left no stone and turn.
“The team showed a real mental resilience, competing in the game at the tail end of the season so it is really positive outcome in terms of the results and the way that the squad handled it.”
