MALKY Thomson says his Rangers squad must take confidence going into this weekend’s Scottish Women’s Premier League match against Motherwell.
Gers head into the game on the back of Sunday’s 11-0 victory over Forfar Farmington and Thomson hopes to see the same approach from his players this weekend.
Speaking to RangersTV he said: “I think it shows they are a strong group and they believe in themselves. It is just the finer details and the way they approached the game against Forfar, their energy, their enthusiasm, their willingness to run, their willingness to compete and getting the goals will just add to the confidence going into the Motherwell game.
“I think it will be a similar game to the one against Forfar, I think they will be difficult to break down and they will be organised.
“The thing for us is we are high in confidence, we have scored 11 goals so it is probably more about us going into the game and concentrating on what we can do.”
Thomson feels the squad are continuing to develop their understanding as the games progress.
He continued: “There's a competitive nature in the squad and they are all fully aware of being at Rangers and being a full-time professional so there's competition within the squad and obviously we go into every game with a belief that we are going to do well.
“It is really vital that you are not just a one trick pony, it is important that whatever the opposition do that you can try and counter not just as coaches but I think the players are now starting to solve problems themselves.
“It takes us back to probably our first interview when we spoke about relationships so first and foremost we had to come together as a group and we had to understand each other and learn to work together.
“We are now at the stage where we are putting demands on each other given the fact we know the strengths of each individual.”
