TODD CANTWELL is targeting a perfect end to the season as Rangers look for a positive run of results in the final month of the campaign.
The Light Blues are back in league action this Sunday lunchtime as they travel to St Mirren fresh off the back of booking their place in the Scottish Cup final last weekend.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference ahead of the trip to Paisley, the midfielder acknowledges the importance of putting wins together as the Gers seek further silverware in the matches that remain.
He said: “How big are these last six games going to be for the club this season and what do they mean to you personally? It is really important.
“It is the business part of the season so I think after the game the other day every game is going to have to be deemed as a final and we need to win them all so that is the plan.
“We definitely have to win our games, that's for sure.
"I think in football momentum is a thing, moral and confidence is all a thing.
“If we are to win every game that is left I think we would have a successful year.
The former Norwich City man insists full focus is on the next fixture and delivering three points week upon week and not letting distractions get in the way.
He continued: “I think from our perspective it's the next game is the most important game; we have to win our games.
“I don't think we can afford to be too distracted with the little nits and grits.
“If you go to the last two games and you are like boys look you are five goals behind or whatever then yes obviously that will change but I think for now we have got to take game by game and just focus on ourselves really.
“Football is pretty unpredictable. I don't think anyone could have predicted how it has gone and I'm sure there will be some more chops and changes as well.
“It is an exciting game for a reason.”
The 26-year-old has highlighted the importance of bouncing back last weekend with the result and the way they performed as the Gers look to carry that victory on for what lies ahead.
He added: “It has been a bit weird not having a midweek game to be fair, quite nice to be honest.
“In football it is really unpredictable, sometimes you get a result you want, sometimes you can play well and get the result you don't want.
“For us I think playing at the weekend and winning and winning quite well was just important for us as it was for anyone else.
“It was a tough week a couple of weeks ago and we wanted to move on from that and that puts a real good marker down.”
