The 18-year-old was on the scoresheet as the Young Gers ran out 3-2 winners over the Italian outfit, a scoreline that failed to reflect the true extent of the Rangers’ dominance.
Speaking to RangersTV post-match, a delighted Ure commented: "We knew it was going to be [a physical game], we did our analysis on them in their game against Liverpool and we knew it was going to be an aggressive game. We’re aggressive boys and we were happy to stand up to it.
"I think in the second half against Ajax we were really good. We should have gotten something from the game. It was just about taking that second half and starting the game how we started the second half in Amsterdam. I thought we did that really well and we deserved the three points.
"Out of possession we were really aggressive, everything that Davie and Brian told us to do before the game. We got two goals because of it, which arguably some would say it should have been more."
Ure restored the Light Blues’ two-goal advantage in the second half as he fired a deflected effort into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.
He continued: "They all count! Lewis MacKinnon passed the ball into me, I didn’t realise I had such space and I’ve tried to get the ball out of my feet and get the shot away. It took a deflection and I was happy to see it go in.
"Second half I thought at times we were sloppy in possession and let them play a little. Obviously them getting the goal back and then us getting the third goal settled the game.
"It was a nervy finish to the game but we managed to hold onto the three points."
