The Light Blues were 2-1 victors over Motherwell at Hampden Park this afternoon with the Czech Republic international grabbing the winner with a well-taken finish in the first half.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory in Glasgow, the winger was happy to play his part and is hopeful to continue contributing throughout the campaign.
He commented: “I am very delighted obviously, first of all about the three points.
“Which were well needed and I think we showed in the first half specifically what we want to do.
“What we prepare for and it is good to win this game.
“Am I hoping to bring that quality to the team this season? Definitely, obviously those kind of games where the position where you are on the ball a lot you need to be creative.
“I tried to find the spaces and in this action for example we did it perfectly and found the right spaces and attacked.
“The finish was good so it was a good action.”
The 26-year-old says it was important to deliver the first three points in the league season after their draw on the opening day, as he expressed his feelings of playing in front of a home Gers support for the first time.
He continued: “It is a good start at home, the temporary home.
“It is such an important thing to start with a win and to get everybody behind us and let's go for more from here.
“I enjoyed it so much; I couldn't wait to get started and to play those games.
“I enjoyed every second of it and I can't wait for the next one.”
Cerny spoke of settling into life in at the club having signed for the Light Blues on July 26 and says attention now turns to their Champions League qualifying second leg on Tuesday evening.
He added: “I have to say everybody has helped me so much to settle as fast as possible.
“A big appreciation from my side and feeling at home already and I am speaking for my family as well so that is the most important thing for me and now it is just focus on football.
“We need to recover well, stick together and be ready for Tuesday.”
