After a positive international break with the Czech Republic, Cerny returned to training with the squad ahead of the game at Ibrox. With five goals in his last seven appearances, the winger has made a big contribution in recent weeks, something he hopes he can continue.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Cerny said: “I had a good international break and very good results with the national team, but I just couldn’t wait to come back and play games again for Rangers.
“Every period is important, we know there is a busy schedule coming up, but we are making steps, we know what we want, and we are just looking forward.
“We want to be consistent, to be playing attractive, dominant football and win games but on the other hand we all know that it is not always possible in football, so I think the three points are always the most important. We want to play good football, that is why we are here every single day, and we are working on that.
“Every game is about a good performance and a good result, so it is always a mix of both. I always enjoy my football when I am fit and when I am on the pitch, and I just want to be part of the success of this club so that is what is driving me.
“I am working on being more dangerous, more effective and the numbers are okay right now, but you will never hear me saying that I am satisfied with that. Every day I can do something more or bring something extra.
After a difficult period earlier in his loan, Cerny said the support of his family and people around the club helped him put that behind him.
He continued: “My life outside of football is very simple, it is just being home with my family and that is the most thing which got me through the tough two or three weeks.
“On the other hand, you need to be mentally prepared for that because in football one week you can be high, and one week you can be low, so it is on the edge. People here in the club, all the guys, the staff, literally everyone gave me the support and I got through it, and I want to keep this flow.
“I don't think it is only in football, it is in life in general I think tough situations make you the person you are and how you react to them. It shows your character and also shows the people you have around you.”
