The winger could face Celtic for the first time as a Rangers player in tomorrow’s clash at Parkhead.
Cerny has played in some other famous derbies, including Ajax against Feyenoord, and he believes high-profile matches bring out the best in him.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, he said: “We feel good about the game, we have had time to prepare for it.
“Speaking for myself, I am looking forward to it. These are the games I wanted to play in when I signed here.
“It is a big derby game, every game is important, but this one is special and it always will be. I can’t wait.
“The mindset should be you want to win every single game, no matter what game it is.
“People can call us whatever they want, but we focus on what we are doing.
“I have spoken to several of my team-mates about this game and I have watched them in the past, so I know what it is like - now I want to experience it for myself.
“It is a shame no Rangers fans are there, but we want to make them happy from a distance and we will try our best to do that.”
Cerny has linked up well on the right flank with skipper James Tavernier and he believes his relationship with the club captain will only get stronger.
The Czech international featured for his country at the Euros and knew it would take him time to get up to full speed in a Rangers shirt.
But he believes he is ready to show his qualities after he, and his family, are settled in their new home.
He added: “I feel 100 per cent ready to play 90 minutes and I feel great.
“We won 6-0 against Ross County and it was a good game and we built on many things, how we are going to play with and without the ball.
“It gave us confidence, we scored a lot of goals and we played some good football.
“I am enjoying every day of coming to the training ground, I feel really well in myself.
“I was welcomed into the group, in the whole club actually, my family are settled and that is important for me.
“Now I can focus on my football and it is going OK so far and I want to build on that.
“My relationship with Tav is all positive and I am enjoying playing with him and hopefully he says the same about me.
“There is a connection there, we talk a lot and I like having that connection with him, but I have it with all the team.”
