The 26-year-old joined the Gers on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg as manager Philippe Clement strengthens his side further ahead of the start of the Scottish Premiership season next weekend.
Speaking to RangersTV in his first interview in a Light Blues jersey, the winger can’t wait to get to work and says everyone was aligned with what they wanted to achieve when he had talks with the club.
He commented: “It is part of this club to be able to win trophies and I think the main goal for this season that I am coming here is to do that.
“Obviously the talks with the club itself, with the manager, the vision, the things we want to achieve. It seemed like it matches with the things that I want to achieve and I am just glad that it is going to be at this beautiful club.
"Bringing my experience of playing in Europe? I hope so, that is the thing I want to do, obviously the dream and goal for me is to be able to help this team and club to achieve those things and have some beautiful nights.
“I had some time off which I think was important and well needed, but now it is time to get to work and I just can't wait to be on the pitch.
“To meet all the players and the staff and just get started again and get ready for the matches which are coming up soon, just to get the season started.”
The winger, who played in the most recent European Championship finals with the Czech Republic this summer, spoke of his time at the tournament and reflected on his career in the Netherlands and a season in German football so far.
He continued: “It was a huge experience, not only for me but also for the team.
“It didn't go as planned as we hoped but for me who missed for example the last Euros because of an ACL injury to be able to fulfil the dream I had to play at a big tournament for your national team for your country that is something you will never forget I think.
“I was a nice moment to play such a game.
“My time in Dutch football? It was a big experience, I went there actually when I was 15, spent almost 11 years over there, so basically grew up in the Netherlands.
“Won something with Ajax and then moved on in my career with Twente.
“Had an amazing time there and obviously after that moved to Germany and after one year I am here.
“Obviously it is a big step from the Dutch competition to the Bundesliga.
“A nice experience for me, I learned new things, even when I turned 26 and have played for a long time but learned new things about football itself.
“That is what football does, brings you new opportunities and new chances and I can't wait to experience it here.
The forward will once again link up with striker Danilo at the Gers having played together at two clubs previously and he is excited at the prospect of stepping onto the pitch with him again.
He added: “Rangers it is a worldwide known club, if you go to in terms of Scotland there is nothing bigger than that and how nice is it to play for a top team and top club in the country.
“Where the pressure is obvious, that makes it even more beautiful I think to achieve things at a club like this and Danilo we actually played together at Ajax for a while and then Twente.
“I can't wait to play with him again, as with the other guys who play here but with Danilo there was always this special connection we talked about up until today so I can't wait to do it again.”
