van Bronckhorst Praises Controlled Rangers

GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst praised a ‘controlled’ Rangers performance as the Light Blues ran-out 3-0 winners over Dundee this afternoon.

The Light Blues were in fine form to defeat James McPake’s side at Ibrox, and the boss was pleased with the hunger his men showed to continue to search for more goals despite their comfortable advantage.

Speaking to RangersTV following the match, van Bronckhorst explained: "We were very controlled, and that is what you want when you play at home. We created a lot of chances and didn't give any away.

"I think we did well today, and even at 3-0 up, we were still looking for the fourth goal, and that is the desire we need in games.

"We work hard to get the passing game up, especially the speed and especially against opponents who are defending really well and are organised.

"You need that flow of passing and today we did really well, and you can see in the more minutes that were played, the more space we got, and also when we changed the direction of play quickly, we dominated those areas."

The manager also took time to look ahead to the final matchday of UEFA Europa League Group A, with Gers traveling to face Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday night.

The Light Blues already have qualification secured, but will still want to end their group campaign on a high.

Van Bronckhorst added: "We are in a great position in the group. We worked hard against Sparta to already be in the next stages, so we can prepare really well tomorrow, have a good recovery and have a day off to rest.

"Then, from Tuesday, we are going to work on Lyon and it starts all over again - we will prepare the team and be ready for the game."
