It has been three months since the teams last met, with Celtic running out 3-1 winners at the beginning of August.
Speaking to RangersTV, the Women’s Head Coach said: “It is a big game because it is an Old Firm game so we have got to show our character and our desire because we will be home in front of a crowd so it is important to show the right attitude.
“It is still difficult against a big team like City and Hibs of course but I am sure we can have a really good game against Celtic.
“I think the girls understand more now what it takes to be a winner and the mentality of a winner.
Following last weekend’s 8-0 defeat to Hibs, Vignal gave his side a few days off after a busy fixture period.
He explained: “I think it was the right thing to say to the girls to have two days off because don’t forget they are not professional, they are not semi-professional, they are working and travelling far from home to make sure they are doing the session and with three games in a week was quite difficult.
“I understand this and that is why I think it was the right time to give two days off to the girls.
“They understand the way i want to play so hopefully it will be a good day on Sunday.”
Vignal will welcome Rosie Mcquillan and Freya Macdonald back into his squad after returning from international duty with Scotland Under-17’s.
He added: “I am really pleased because I think Freya has played really well since July, Rosie is the same and she has been scoring goals and they are listening and they played really well for the national team.
“It was more difficult against Italy but I think it is good for the national team, it is good for the country and it is good for the club.”
