A penalty scored by captain Clare Gemmell on the 12th minute was the difference against Aberdeen at Aberdeen Sports Village.
Vignal said: “It was really really good win, I am really pleased it was a really difficult game it was windy, the pitch was bobbly and it was a long trip so I am really pleased with the performance from today.
“I said to the girls all week you need to be ready and prepare for this game properly it is a cup game away from home, especially against Aberdeen a long trip and they are a difficult club to play against so I said be ready and to be honest we played the game plan and we were strong from the start to the end so it was really good.”
“They have to learn to manage this type of game especially away from home against a good club so this is something we have to learn.
The win puts Rangers in the hat for Tuesday’s semi-final draw alongside Glasgow City, Hibs and Motherwell.
Vignal added: “I think it is good progress for the club and for the squad this is where we want to be and I said when I came in July that this four months we need to make sure we are ready for next year.
