The candidates for the voting for this month’s winner are as follows:
Leah Eddie
The defender was a mainstay in the Gers backline throughout the first month of the year as the side claimed three crucial wins across two separate competitions.
The team recorded two clean sheets in the outings, which included an emphatic 14-0 win over Queen’s Park to start the year and a 3-0 win over Spartans at the weekend.
She was also on hand to help the side claim the city bragging rights as they booked their place in the Sky Sports Cup final in March with an Old Firm victory at New Douglas Park.
Liv McLoughlin
A consistent performer all season, having missed the final fixture of 2024 she has been back in the side in recent outings and played her part in the three domestic victories in January.
Known for her defensive attributes in midfield, she showed her attacking capabilities to find the target on two occasions as well as provide an assist in the 14-0 success over Queen’s Park to start the new year in style.
A player of the match performance in the Old Firm semi-final was to follow for the 20-year-old, before helping her team to another three points in the capital in their final fixture of the month.
Brogan Hay
Brogan had an impressive month in a Rangers jersey as she was named in the starting side for all three matches at the start of 2025.
Beginning the new year in style she was on hand to set up two of her teammates as well as grab a goal herself in the Queen’s Park success whilst providing the crucial cross for Rio Hardy to turn home the opener in the derby victory.
A third start on the bounce was to follow in Edinburgh as she helped the team dig deep to claim three vital points to keep pace at the top of the SWPL standings.
Mia McAulay
Deployed in a slightly different number 10 position in the outings this year so far, the youngster has adapted to the new role impressively.
Finding the back of the net two times as well as claiming an assist in the Queen’s Park win, she followed that up by helping her side reach a third Sky Sports Cup final in a row with the victory in Hamilton.
A fixture she opened the scoring in last season as the Gers claimed a 4-1 win over Partick Thistle in last March’s final, she will be keen to continue her form in the matches to come to help the Light Blues achieve success in the remainder of the campaign.
Katie Wilkinson
The club’s top goal scorer started the new year where she left off as she produced several strikes to help the Gers to three crucial victories.
She appeared off the substitutes bench on the opening fixture at Ochilview Park but still found the back of the net on two occasions to help the team to get back to winning ways in league action.
A quite brilliant free kick then helped the side book their place in the first cup final of the campaign as they ran out 2-1 Old Firm winners, before another brace was to follow in the SWPL victory over Spartans, heading home the vital opening goal from Chelsea Cornet’s cross.
