The Light Blues enjoyed a fantastic month domestically, winning all four of their SWPL fixtures scoring 25 goals in total and conceding just twice as they continued their impressive start to the season.
The candidates for the voting for last month’s winner are as follows:
Nicola Docherty - The captain put on a consistent showing throughout the month, remaining solid defensively whilst continuously providing an attacking threat down the left channel, helping the team to two clean sheets in the process.
Kathryn Hill – The centre-back was also pivotal at the heart of the defence contributing to the clean sheets whilst also featuring in all four outings, picking up an assist in the 12-0 win over Montrose on September 17.
Rachel McLauchlan – The defender also enjoyed a productive month as part of the Gers backline, whilst part of the three-man defence that claimed two clean sheets and conceded on only two occasions, she helped herself to three assists as well as finding the back of the net for the first time this campaign in the win over Motherwell.
Mia McAulay – The youngster continued her bright start to the campaign after starting all the games in the previous month with another four appearances including one from the substitutes bench. The 17-year-old registered two goals and assists in September as she continues to enjoy gaining valuable experience featuring in the side.
Kirsty Howat - The striker enjoyed a fantastic month for the Light blues, scoring seven goals as well as providing three assists for her teammates in the four fixtures. Her form was also recognised with a first call-up to the Scotland national team and she was rewarded for her efforts by winning the SWPL Player of the Month for the first time.
