The Gers enjoyed another fantastic month with both progression in the Sky Sports Cup and their league form sending them to the top of the table heading into the international break.
The candidates for the voting for this month’s winner are as follows:
Chelsea Cornet - The midfielder enjoyed a consistent month in the middle of the park after making her return from injury in the Sky Sports Cup win over Hearts on October 1. Starting the next three outings in the league including the most recent Old Firm win her form saw her added as a late inclusion in the Scotland national squad in the most recent break.
Jenna Fife - The goalkeeper was a mainstay between the posts in October starting all four matches throughout the month. Keeping successive clean sheets in the away win over Hamilton as well in the 7-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox, with her form once again seeing her included in Pedro Martinez Losa’s Scotland setup.
Kirsty Howat - The SWPL player of the month winner for September continued her fine form during the October fixtures in a month which included her first ever Ibrox goal. Starting all four games the striker found the back of the net on six occasions as well as providing one assist, with the highlight of her month seeing her score four times in the 7-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox.
Kirsty Maclean - The youngster was a consistent performer in October starting three of the four fixtures. Playing her part in all of the Light Blues’ victories she produced the finish which levelled up the contest in the most recent Old Firm win as Rangers completed a second half turnaround with the 18-year-old also assisting her teammate on one occasion in the Ibrox victory seven days earlier.
Rio Hardy - The striker continued her prolific goal scoring form last month after hitting the ground running in front of goal since joining the club from Durham in the summer. Scoring on four occasions as well as providing three assists Hardy came up with the game’s crucial moment in the most recent Old Firm fixture. Heading home the winner from Lizzie Arnot’s cross to send the Gers to the top of the SWPL table.
