The format of the competition this season sees Partick Thistle, Clyde and Queen’s Park compete in a league with Rangers and Celtic Colts.
The 20-year-old says he feels the squad have grown over the last few months, as they head into this evening’s tie against Partick Thistle.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “It will obviously be a tough challenge, we played them the last time and it was a really good test playing against older players so the boys are ready for it.
“I think experience is a big thing over the past couple of months playing with each other finding out how we like to play so I think we go into the game really positive and hopefully get a result.”
Partick Thistle are currently unbeaten in the competition winning three and drawing one of their fixtures.
Breen feels the experience of the competition is good for the Young Gers.
He added: “It is brilliant, obviously training with the first team you get experience from that and then playing against first-teams all the time it is really good and you learn a lot from it.
“We have a winning mentality and we have to go into this game better than last time we did against Partick.”
