The young Gers face Ballymena United away tomorrow evening, having already overcome Berwick Rangers and Stranraer in the competition.
Finlayson said: “We are are expecting a tough side I know from my experience that Ballymena are a really good side, they are physical, they are tough to play against but it will be a good experience for the boys that is what we are here for.
“We have had two really hard games in the competition so far, they were physical as the next one will be but we have learned a lot from the two games and we will take as much as we can into these games and try to get the win again.
“I am expecting a similar challenge but of a better standard, I know some of the players who play there and they are really high quality and have a few international players and they obviously done well in the Europa League.
Finlayson is looking forward to the chance to play in front of a good crowd at Ballymena Showgrounds.
He added: “That is part of why you play for Rangers as well to have big crowds coming, of course they have got a really good support and it will be good.
“The support we get is always incredible but we are looking forward to the big games and it will be a good support.”
“That has been a good part of this programme that we have got that opportunity to play against men and that is the next step for a lot of our boys that we need to get more experience playing against men and this platform gives us that opportunity.”
The game kicks-off at 7.45pm at Ballymena Showgrounds tomorrow evening and fans can pay at the gate.
