The 17-year-old got the goal for Rangers early in the second half, but thought he could have had another.
He said: “It was a tough game, it was physical and they were very aggressive but I thought we stood well with them.
“I think a draw was fair but I feel we could have scored more. I think the opportunities we created were good and we were maybe just lacking that final touch.
McPake fired home on the 52nd minute to give Rangers the lead after getting on the end of a cross from Jordan Houston.
He added:
“Especially for some of the first team boys it was good to get minutes on the park and for us as well to prove that we should be round there with the first-team all the time.
“It was brilliant, the stand is looking good it’s probably the most full it is going to get so it was a good day.”
