A hat-trick from Chris McKee and goals from Aaron Lyall, Ross McCausland, Kane Ritchie-Hosler and Umaro Balde saw the Gers to a 7-0 victory at the Highland Football Academy.
Rangers were 2-0 ahead at half-time and the Under-18’s coach admitted the side felt they were below their best levels in the first half.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, McCallum said: “Listen of course you have got to be delighted I thought we scored some really really good goals.
“Inverness could have scored actually before we scored at that point so that was a wee wake up for our lads to make sure that they reach the levels or maintain levels that they should be irrespective of what team we are playing against.
“It was an excellent goal from Aaron and it was a good start to the game, it took a little while to get from that one to the second one which probably frustrated our lads a little bit and in that spell the game got a little bit scrappy but then we got the second goal just before half-time again which allowed the game to settle down.
Striker Chris McKee came off the bench and made an impact by netting a hat-trick.
McCallum added: “Chris comes on in the second-half and gets a hat-trick, I think in a 13 minute spell, and he is probably feeling a little bit agrieved in the fact that he has not started the game and probably wanted to show Kevin and I that he should have been starting.
“I think that is obviously through the weeks that have gone by the goals seem to be shared.
“It shows that we have got a little bit from different positions some will feel that they should have got a little bit more.”
