Megan Bell gave the Gers an early lead from the penalty spot, but the Light Blues had to work hard to increase their advantage with goals from Brogan Hay and Daina Bourma coming in the last 10 minutes.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, Thomson said: “I think it was a good performance, we created a lot of chances and probably on another day we would’ve scored more goals but we are really pleased with it.
“Megan Bell has great confidence, she is beating herself up just now with the chances she didn’t score but she has done really well and scored the penalty.
“Because of the way they played it was difficult to try and break them up so it was basically about shifting the ball quicker and getting better movement from our players ahead of the ball and creating more width which we did in the second half and the girls stuck to that plan.”
The Joint Head Coach was pleased with the team spirit shown by his side as substitute Daina Bourma came off the bench to net late on.
He added:
“There was great team spirit shown when the team was selected and the girls were all round about each other and encourage each other so we have got that spirit. We got another result so we are really pleased and really happy.”
