We WIll Focus On Ourselves Tomorrow

GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst insisted that Rangers will focus on themselves tomorrow night as they prepare to face Liverpool in their next Champions League match at Anfield.

The Dutchman reiterated that the Light Blues will face another challenging squad tomorrow evening but highlighted that the Gers are focused on their positive attributes to carry into the 90 minutes.

Speaking to the press at Anfield ahead of tomorrow’s well-anticipated match against Jurgen Klopp’s squad, he said: “We lost our first games and that means we don’t have any points; we know the challenge that we face tomorrow against a really good side.

"We want to have results and that’s what we have to do, we have to look at ourselves, but we’re here to have a good result – that’s our intention.

“It’s going to be very difficult, it’s a team who perform really well in the league, they’ve been in three finals in the last five years, and I think they’re one of the best teams in Europe. If you look at all our opponents that we have faced in the last season in Europe, and this season is probably the strongest side.”

Van Bronckhorst touched on his attacking players for tomorrow night and highlighted that the squad are looking forward to embracing the challenges against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

He continued: “The decision isn’t difficult because you’re always looking at the opponent and how you want to play, then we choose the best option.

"It’s good because they’re both in really good condition at the moment, Antonio [Colak] has scored many goals in the league and Morelos has come in also, they’re two different types of strikers so we will always look at the game ahead and that’s tomorrow against Liverpool.

“It’s a good podium for us, not just for the club but also for the players. As I said before, they are a quality side, and this is the first time in club history that the two sides are facing each other. There are all good things to look forward to and we are excited to be here and try and get a good result.”

The Gers Boss emphasised that his side have been utilising their time well in training to prepare against a high level of opposition and the motivation that will provide the team moving forward.

He added: “There are always things to exploit, any team has those areas where you can exploit. They didn’t have a good result on Saturday, but we are going we are still going to prepare against a really good Liverpool side tomorrow, they have all the strengths they need to perform at this level.

"They have quality players, a good team, and a fantastic coach – we’re preparing for the best Liverpool side tomorrow.

“We’re really proud that we are back in the Champions League because you want to face really good opposition, good teams and players to play against. It’s a motivation to perform on this level, not only for Ryan [Kent] but for my whole team as well.”
