RANGERS yesterday welcomed WWE Superstars Drew McIntyre and Piper Niven, as well as the World’s Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman, to Ibrox ahead of WWE Clash of the Castle tomorrow evening.
McIntyre, a lifelong Rangers supporter, was also inducted into the Scottish Wrestling of Hall of Fame by Glasgow’s Lord Provost, becoming the first active wrestler to boast the honour.
The trio were given a tour of the famous stadium by Gers Hall of Fame duo, Mark Hateley and Lee McCulloch, before they paid a visit to the Rangers Museum which holds a custom WWE Championship title belt gifted to the club by McIntyre in 2021.
In addition, all three were awarded with MyGers memberships and presented with their own personalised version of the 2024/25 away shirt.
On the visit ahead of Saturday’s PPV event at the OVO Hydro, McIntyre commented: “It’s pretty surreal to be the only active wrestler to be inducted into the Scottish Wrestling Hall of Fame.
“But it’s even more surreal that it happened in Ibrox and, even more so, on the weekend where I’m wrestling Scotland’s first ever PLE for the World Championship. It’s all my passions as a kid coming together as one.”
Niven, who is also Ayrshire-born and will compete for the WWE Women’s Championship tomorrow evening, continued: “The Scottish crowd brings an energy like no other. We’ve had a lot of great crowds at international events this year, but I know the locker room are sick of myself and Drew telling them ‘wait until we go to Scotland’.
“I can’t wait for Scotland to show the world why we’ve been saying that on Saturday.”
Stoltman, who became World’s Strongest Man for the third time in his career last month, added: “I was brought up as a Rangers fan from my big brother, and I’ve always loved Rangers who have been a big part of my heart.
“It feels good to be World’s Strongest Man and to win it in 2021, 2022 and 2024. It is even sweeter to take the title back home to Scotland and it’s a great achievement for myself.”
