The young Gers, who are the only B Team remaining in the competition as they bid for a place in the quarter-finals, will host Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians at Cappielow Park on Tuesday evening.
And Yfeko, who only recently returned from a minor injury that he sustained in the 4-1 victory over Alloa Athletic, believes the Light Blues will need to be bang at it to overcome Rhys McCabe’s promising side.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of the contest, the 20-year-old defender commented: “I came off injured, but the boys showed incredible fight to get the job done even though we had stuff setting us back.
“All of the lads, and even the younger boys who came on, done their part and exactly what the coaches asked of them.
“Now that everyone has that confidence in each other, especially with the older boys having confidence in the younger ones, we’ll be up for it going into the game and, whatever happens, we’ll have each other.
“We’re two very good footballing sides. It’s going to take more than football to push them out of the way. It could come down to who wants it more on the night.
“The fans have the biggest part to play. I know that they’re going to cheer us on and be right behind us. We just need to get the job done for them.
“I want the fans to be as loud as they can. We’re going to need them and hopefully we can progress to the next round.”
A clash against Scottish Championship opposition is a test that Yfeko has experienced already this term having made his first-team debut in the 2-1 victory over Greenock Morton in the Viaplay Cup in August.
The 20-year-old lined up alongside the experience of Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun at Ibrox that afternoon, and he believes he is still reaping the benefits from the experience he garnered across those 90 minutes.
He continued: “I learned that I was starting the day before when we were doing the shape. I was nervous, but I was really helped because the gaffer at the time and the players around had a lot of faith in me.
“They all said to me that I was starting for a reason and it wasn’t a fluke so take the opportunity that comes your way.
“I remember advice from Leon Balogun saying that I shouldn’t get too nervous, listen to what people are telling you, and don’t be shy because it’s a step up.
“It was amazing for me. I got to see for the first time how they operate and how demanding that they are towards other players; they’re natural leaders on the pitch and everyone listens to them.
“It really helped me a lot and it’s still helping me to this day.
“[The leadership in the B Team] is shared between a few of the 2003s like myself, Robbie Fraser, Ross McCausland, Cole McKinnon and Arron Lyall; we all try to take some responsibility.
“It resonates around the whole group because I even see some of the 2004s that I’m trying to carry forward. It’s spreading around the whole group so everyone becomes a leader in their own right.”
