The 18-year-old full-back has featured heavily for the young Gers in the competition this term after making the transition from the Under-18s over the last 12 months.
Queen’s Park await in the last eight for the winners of tonight’s clash in Stirling and Hutton says the side are determined to go one step further than last season.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of this evening’s clash, Hutton said of the opportunity: “The team are really looking forward to it.
“It’s a cup and you can win a trophy at the end of it, so we’ve been excited for every round that we’ve played in and we’re looking to progress in each round.
“The way that the season is going at the moment, with the new games system we’ve got, we’re playing against different teams around Europe.
“All the boys look forward to the competition as we’re playing for something each game, and the higher you go through the rounds then the better the competition that we play.
“I felt we done well to see out the game against Clyde. We went down to ten men but managed to come back into the game.
“It shows the mentality of the team and I feel as if we all understand each other. We’ll take it into the Stenhousemuir game and we have a good opportunity to go through to the next round.
“It’s all focus on the Stenhousemuir game in order to get through, but if we get through the next round then we will come up against a Championship side.
“There’s a very good standard in League One, so it will be a good challenge.”
Stenhousemuir currently sit in fifth place in the table, although they only trail leaders Alloa Athletic by three points.
There will be a strong Rangers home support at Forthbank Stadium this evening as the team look to get the better of their League One opponents.
Hutton continued: “There aren’t many people watching in most games that we play because it’s an academy game.
“We get more fans in the cup games and it allows us to go and show what we can do as well.
“There’s more atmosphere to the game and you can feel it when you’re playing. It’s a competition so you’re playing for something at the end of the day. We’re going to try and win the game.
“Building on last season’s run to the last 16? I felt like last season we done well to get through to where we got.
“The Airdrie game was a tough game and you could see their experience.
“It will be the same this year and we need to be prepared for that. We know what to expect.
“Playing against senior teams? It’s definitely different and you’re playing against older, experienced men. They understand the game both tactically and mentally.
“Most teams try to play football when it comes to academy games, but when you come up against opponents like Stenhousemuir it’s a different game altogether.”
