ZOE NESS feels it is important Rangers now build on their hard work during lockdown as the restart of the Scottish Women’s Premier League edges closer.
The striker said the squad remained focused through the suspension as they continued to push themselves and each other despite being unable to train as a group.
Speaking to RangersTV she said: “We always knew we were going to be back at some stage but that date was a bit unknown so for us as a squad we have been making sure we are ready.
“It is credit to the girls and a real big thanks to everyone at the club because the support we have had has been brilliant and it has meant everyone has come back in good shape.
“Even a few of the girls that have been out injured have managed to get themselves back fit and back in and training so the numbers have been good and it's really really competitive now and that's how we want it to be.
“A lot of the girls took it upon themselves to go and push themselves and try and do a bit more especially since we have got everything we need resource-wise.
“The ownership was on the girls to go and push to that next level and see where we can get to individually and then obviously collectively.
“It is not just the eleven that start or the ones that come on it is the whole team and I think as a group it is such a good group to be involved in there are so many different personalities that really makes for a nice environment to be working in.”
Looking back on the first seven games of the season, Ness feels Rangers now need to take the positives and try to build some momentum going into next Sunday’s match against Hearts.
She continued: “It is about taking positives and also working on things we could do a lot better.
“It took us a wee while at the start of the season to get going and getting momentum was quite hard but we definitely got that towards that end and that is where it is really important again to start picking up momentum with training sessions, friendlies and kick on when the league starts again.
“We are really focussed as a group, it really helps being in and around the training centre and seeing the success that the guys have so that is something we are aspiring to get and something we are working really hard as a group to do as well."
“It has been a while since we have played and I know that everyone else in the league will have upped their game. It'll be about who has got the strongest squad to get them through the games that are going to come thick and fast.”
