RANGERS Academy had several of our young players representing their countries over the international break.

As many as ten players showcased their talent on the international stage, and we have put together a round up of their exploits below.

  • Scotland Under-21s 5-2 Azerbaijan Under-21s – Tuesday, September 30 - European Championship Qualifying
  • Bulgaria Under-21s 0-2 Scotland Under-21s – Tuesday, October 6 – European Championship Qualifying

Glasgow made his Scotland Under-21s debut with a substitute appearance at Rugby Park in the side’s win over Azerbaijan.

The 16-year-old was rewarded with a call-up following his impressive start to life on loan at Alloa Athletic in League One.

The victory in Ayrshire was catapulted by a four-assist performance from Findlay Curtis, who resumed senior squad duties in last night's clash at Hampden against Slovenia.

Callum Burnside – Northern Ireland Under-21s

Burnside was a second-half substitute for Northern Ireland in their convincing victory over Malta.

The winger has grown in importance for Airdrieonians in recent weeks after joining the League One outfit on loan until the end of the season.

He was an unused substitute in the draw with Georgia but was involved once again in their final qualifying match, featuring for the final half hour as Northern Ireland finished third in the group.

The duo netted in the 3-1 triumph over Finland, while there were appearances for each of our Rangers representatives.

Rydnn McGuire started the side’s final two matches, and although the side’s results were a mixed bag, they will be better for the experience under new head coach, Tam Courts.

Coben Fergusson, Ruaridh Hall and Corey Ngwenya – Scotland Under-17s

  • Real Murcia 0-5 Scotland Under-17s – Wednesday, September 23 – Friendly
  • Scotland Under-17s 1-4 USA Under-17s – Saturday, September 26 – Friendly

Rangers were strongly represented in the Scotland Under-17s squad.

The trio all made the step up to the level, having represented their country previously, with appearances for all three in their friendly matches.

It was a memorable afternoon against Belgium for Fergusson, who netted his first Under-17s goal as the young Scots marched from 3-0 down to claim a draw against a strong Belgian outfit.
