The nine-in-a-row icon will join Barry Ferguson on the coaching staff ahead of the iconic return of a Scottish football staple of the 1980s and 90s at Braehead Arena next month.
Durrant made over 400 appearances for the club and lifted six league championships, three Scottish Cups, and four League Cups.
He progressed through the club's youth system and marked his debut in 1985 in a win over Greenock Morton.
A crucial component of Graeme Souness' early sides, he returned from injury in 1991 and was involved in the winner-takes-all clash against Aberdeen at Ibrox to clinch the league title on the final day of the 1990/91 campaign.
Later under the tutelage of Walter Smith, Durrant famously scored for the side in the UEFA Champions League away to Olympique de Marseille and helped the Gers to a memorable nine successive league championships.
Durrant since has gained experience in a coaching capacity, firstly leading the club as a caretaker manager in 2007 before working alongside Smith and Ally McCoist in the dugout.
The SPFL Tennent’s Sixes will take place on the weekend of October 3 and 4 at Braehead Arena.
