DUJON STERLING believes the Rangers squad have the belief they can continue their impressive form against Hearts.

Derek McInnes’ men travel across the M8 tomorrow night to take on the Jambos at Tynecastle on a run of nine games unbeaten.

That sequence has included eight wins in all competitions and defender Sterling says confidence is high across the team.

Speaking to the media, he said: “We have trust and belief in ourselves, if we turn up and are the right Rangers then no one can stop us in the league.

“Every day the demands we put on ourselves in training is very high.

“I think the first league clean sheet against Aberdeen helped us. We were still gelling as a team but once we clicked we have kicked on.

“For me, you do the right things every single day and eventually the outcome will be what you want it to be.

“When you start doing things you shouldn’t, those habits slip into your game. Like turning up late, then it slips into, I haven’t tracked my man.

“All in all we are in a good position and we are in a good run of form and hopefully that continues.

“Tynecastle is hostile and they try to make it difficult for you. Their players will be up for it, it is a big game.

“But it is no different to other games, you take every game the same, they are all difficult.

“Every game is a must-win, no game is less than any other. Against Dundee last week we dropped points and that’s not ideal, but we had the same message against St Johnstone and we had to win.

“There is no difference from playing Celtic and Hearts to Kilmarnock and St Johnstone.

“They are four points behind us, but it wouldn’t knock them out of the title race as we were far behind and then got to top of the table last season.

“It puts down a marker to say we are strong away from home and at home. We have no fear going into the game.

“We know who we are and we have to be ready to match everything that comes at us.

“Everyone’s goal is to try to win the league. There is no point coming to Rangers if you aren’t here to win trophies.

“This is another stepping stone to get another three points.”

Sterling is now in his fourth season at Ibrox and is under contract until the summer of 2028.

The stopper has impressed this campaign and enjoying an extended run in the side and he has praised gaffer McInnes’ man management since taking over.

He added: “He has been top since he came in.

“We have a good understanding and relationship but he has that with all the boys.

“Some coaches and managers treat everyone the same but he knows specifics with the boys and not everyone is the same.

“You can go and speak to him one on one but even around the building he is always asking how we are and he is a great character.

“I haven’t thought deeply about being a leader but I try to show it on the pitch.

“I put in 100 per cent, even if I am not playing great myself, I still run for the team, defend properly.

“From that point of view that is where my leadership qualities come out.”
