It was an incredible turnaround from Danny Röhl’s side as they secured another crucial three points in the final fixture before the league split.
With Falkirk taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening half-hour, Tochi Chukwuani scored to make 2-1 at the break. That sparked a Rangers response in the second-half as Bojan Miovski and Youssef Chermiti both netted twice, alongside a Nico Raskin goal to round off a superb afternoon for Gers.
There were four changes from last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Dundee United, as James Tavernier, Emmanuel Fernandez, Djeidi Gassama and Youssef Chermiti returned to the starting line-up.
John Souttar and Andreas Skov Olsen dropped to the bench, with Ryan Naderi and Dujon Sterling out of the matchday squad.
Jack Butland made his 50th competitive appearance of the season as he once again took up position between the sticks, behind a back for of James Tavernier, Emmanuel Fernandez, Nasser Djiga and Jayden Meghoma.
Nico Raskin and Tochi Chukwuani were in midfield alongside Thelo Aasgaard, while Djeidi Gassama, Mikey Moore and Youssef Chermiti completed the line-up.
It was not the start Rangers were looking for as the home side took the lead with only six minutes on the clock. The ball broke for Calvin Miller down the left and he drove forward before sending a delivery into the box. Benjamin Braggio, on loan from Aston Villa, took a touch before directing a right-footed shot beyond Butland from close range.
Gers looked for a response as Youssef Chermiti opted to play the ball out wide to Djeidi Gassama, with the winger drilling a low shot on target, but Scott Bain blocked the effort with his feet.
However, it only got worse for Röhl’s men as the home side doubled their advantage before the half-hour mark. Rangers were unable to deal with the danger in and around the box as Dylan Tait found Finn Yeats and he released a powerful right-footed strike which nestled in the bottom corner.
Mikey Moore had a strike blocked by Scott Bain, before Gassama sent an effort wide from outside of the box as Rangers searched for a route back into this fixture.
With less than five minutes remaining of the first-half, Gers had the goal they craved as Tochi Chukwuani netted his second goal in three games.
In the build-up, Thelo Aasgaard hit the post with a strike before Nico Raskin sent a looping ball back into the box. Falkirk appeared to think the cross had drifted out but it reached Gassama who headed back across goal, before Chukwuani found the back of the net from inside the area. After a VAR check the goal was confirmed and the deficit was reduced before the break.
Röhl made one change at half-time as Mikey Moore was replaced by Bojan Miovski and it was a perfect start to the second-half for Rangers.
Within the opening two minutes they found a second goal to draw level as Djeidi Gassama did well down the left to keep the ball alive, before sending it into the box and Chermiti was on hand to touch home his 10th goal of the season.
Less than five minutes later Rangers turned it around and it was a lovely finish from midfielder Nico Raskin. Aasgaard found the run of Raskin on his overlap, and the Belgian carried the ball forward before showing composure to finish with a nice low right-footed strike.
It was an incredible first 15 minutes to the second-half, as Miovski gave Rangers a 4-2 advantage in the 58th minute. Raskin provided the delivery this time, sending a ball in from the left, and it was a good finish from Miovski from close range as he ran off to celebrate in front of the travelling supporters. Falkirk were awarded a penalty in the 68th minute as James Tavernier caught Filip Lissah inside the box with referee Don Robertson pointing to the spot. Calvin Miller stepped up to the spot and got one back for the home side as it nicked in beyond Jack Butland, who got a slight touch but was unable to keep it out.
Miller came close again shortly after with a curling effort which went just wide of Butland’s right-hand post.
There were more goals in this game, and Rangers had a fifth with 15 minutes of the match remaining. Gassama saw an initial shot blocked, but Chermiti made no mistake on the rebound firing beyond Bain for his second of the afternoon.
A sixth goal followed and it was Miovski who also got his second of the game. Chermiti and Antman combined down the right, before the winger sent an inviting ball across the face of goal and the Miovski was on hand to finish from close range.
