A James Tavernier spot-kick cracked open the game inside four minutes, preceded by the visitors going down to ten men when Dominic Thompson was shown a straight red card, but they were frustrated by a resolute Killie outfit until Bojan Miovski added a second just shy of the hour-mark.
A raft of changes around the hour-mark reignited the display, including the introduction of Naderi, Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen, with the latter scoring his first Rangers goal in his third appearance for the club.
Greg Kiltie then pulled a goal back for the visitors with seven minutes remaining, but it was rendered a mere consolation as Oliver Antman and Mikey Moore netted in stoppage time to cap off the scoring.
Danny Röhl named five changes to his side for the visit of Neil McCann’s men, with Emmanuel Fernandez and Youssef Chermiti dropping out through injury while Dujon Sterling’s minutes were being managed.
And Rangers couldn’t have drawn up a better start when they pierced straight through the heart of the visitors when Jayden Meghoma fed Mikey Moore, making an out-to-in run off the left, who lifted his head and slid a delicious pass through to Djeidi Gassama.
With only the goalkeeper to beat, the winger was brought to the ground by Dominic Thompson who suffered the double punishment of conceding a clear spot-kick and being a shown a straight red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
A brief VAR check confirmed Gassama as onside, with Tavernier striding forward from 12 yards and dispatching into the bottom corner with just four minutes on the referee’s stopwatch.
The numerical advantage almost paid immediate dividends from a short corner routine when the ball was worked along the edge of the penalty area for Mohamed Diomande to lash just inches wide of the far post.
As if almost spooked by the man advantage, Killie nearly caught the hosts napping when Greg Kiltie broke forward down the right and pulled the ball across to Bruce Anderson in space who swept wide first-time.
Nico Raskin then shot straight at Kelle Roos down the opposite end, while Meghoma was guilty of delaying his shot a half second too long when slipped through by Moore.
A moment of quality from Tavernier with a deep delivery almost saw Nasser Djiga glancing a header on target, but the on-loan Wolves defender couldn’t make the required contact.
As if to underline the home side’s frustration a cross from right was initially brought down by Thelo Aasgaard who failed to get his shot away before the ball dropped to Miovski whose follow-up effort was blocked.
He did manage to get an effort away on the stroke of the half-time interval when picked out by Gassama, but it was of the tame variety and comfortable for Roos between the posts for Killie.
The comfort for Rangers as they emerged for the second half was their superiority in the scoreline, but they would have been hungry to add to their lead to guard against a sting from the Ayrshire side.
Djiga looked to achieve that just seconds after the interval when he let fly from distance with the Killie midfield backing off but could only watch his strike skid inches wide of the bottom corner.
If the hosts were to find a second then it looked likely to come through Moore who certainly had the bit between his teeth, weaving his way through a crowd of bodies before releasing Aasgaard whose cut-back was begging to be met by a blue jersey.
However, the scoreline was doubled to alleviate any lingering anxiety inside Ibrox just shy of the hour-mark when Diomande took it upon himself to find a route through the Killie rearguard, instead laying the ball into the path of Miovski at the edge of the penalty area who wrapped a delightful finish into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.
The Gers faithful remained standing for the introduction of Ryan Naderi moments later as the towering striker wasted no time in throwing his weight around.
Tuur Rommens also took to the pitch for the first time as a Rangers player, replacing the tireless Meghoma, as Röhl’s side sought a third goal of the evening.
It almost arrived when Rommens’ intelligent pull-back landed perfectly at the feet of fellow substitute Skov Olsen who forced Roos into a reaction stop.
However, the Danish international wasn’t to be denied his first strike in Gers colours with a little over a quarter of an hour remaining.
Again, Rommens picked up an advanced position on the left-hand side and when his cut-back was intercepted it was Moore who picked up the scraps before laying the ball perfectly into the path of Skov Olsen to bend an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
Killie pulled a goal back with seven minutes remaining when Kiltie profited from a Jack Butland lapse to tap into an empty net, but Rangers wasted precious little time in re-establishing their commanding lead when Antman stroked into the bottom corner before teeing up Moore to curl home with the final kick of the game.
