The victory made it 10 competitive wins on the bounce for Philippe Clement’s men as they dominated against an on-form Hearts side.
Cyriel Dessers netted a double, taking him to 15 goals for the season, with January signings Mohamed Diomande, Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva all finding the target at Ibrox.
There were four changes from last weekend’s victory over St Johnstone with Ridvan, Tom Lawrence, Dujon Sterling and Cyriel Dessers all coming into the starting XI.
Borna Barisic, Scott Wright and Fabio Silva were on the bench for this one, while Todd Cantwell missed out with a hamstring injury.
It was a special afternoon for Connor Goldson as he made his 300th competitive appearance for the club, becoming the quickest Rangers player to reach the milestone just 2053 days since his debut.
Jack Butland was in goal, with Goldson joined in defence by John Souttar, captain James Tavernier and Ridvan.
John Lundstram and Mohamed Diomande retained their places in midfield, with Tom Lawrence coming in from the start.
Dujon Sterling took up position on the right wing, with Oscar Cortes on the opposite flank in support of striker Cyriel Dessers.
It was the visitors who got the action underway at Ibrox, with Steven Naismith’s side on an impressive unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership since early December.
However, it was Rangers who made the perfect start in front of a vocal home crowd, as they took the lead with less than two minutes of the match played. Two of the January signings combined with Oscar Cortes picking out Mohamed Diomonde on the edge of the box.
The midfielder took a touch onto his left foot before releasing a perfect strike into the bottom corner of the net for his second goal in two games.
Zander Clark was called into action with 15 minutes on the clock, as Cyriel Dessers broke forward before cutting inside and getting a shot away at goal but the Hearts goalkeeper was on hand to block the effort.
Just seconds later, the goalkeeper pulled off another good stop to get a touch on a powerful strike from James Tavernier which looked set to be heading for the back of the net but Clark reacted well to turn it behind for a corner.
Ridvan was next to try a strike from distance, with Clark blocking the initial shot as well as a close-range rebound effort from Cyriel Dessers, with the linesman raising his flag for offside on the strikers’ shot.
Midway through the half, Hearts enjoyed a spell of possession, but were unable to test Jack Butland in the Rangers’ goal.
It was 2-0 to Rangers with 10 minutes of the first-half remaining. Dujon Sterling did well to win the ball back in a dangerous position as he intercepted a Kye Rowles pass to play in Tom Lawrence.
Lawrence picked out Oscar Cortes with a lovely pass across the edge of the box with the Colombian making a driving run into the area before hitting a low curling right-footed finish beyond Clark and into the back of the net for his first Rangers goal.
It was a superb first-half performance from Rangers who were three goals to the good with 44 minutes played at Ibrox.
It was a perfect delivery into the box from John Souttar to pick out Cyriel Dessers who showed composure to touch beyond Clark for his 15th goal of the season.
Into the second-half and it was more of the same from Clement’s men who extended their lead just two minutes into the half.
Dujon Sterling delivered a cross into the box in search of Dessers, he touched the ball down with Tom Lawrence picking it up and managing to get it out of his feet and back to Dessers who finished beyond Clark from close range.
Butland held a Lawrence Shankland shot as he looked to reduce the deficit for the visitors.
With 55 minutes played, Clement turned to his bench for the first time of the afternoon as he introduced Fabio Silva and Ross McCausland in place of Tom Lawrence and Dujon Sterling.
Dessers almost had a hat-trick as James Tavernier played a ball across the face of goal but it was just out of reach for the number nine.
It was 5-0 to Rangers with 25 minutes still to play at Ibrox as Fabio Silva got in on the scoring. John Lundstram played a superb pass into the box to find the run of the on-loan Wolves striker turned well before releasing a low strike beyond Clark.
Scott Wright and Nico Raskin were introduced shortly after, with goalscorers Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande making way.
Kemar Roofe returned to the Ibrox pitch in place of Cyriel Dessers for the final 10 minutes as the striker returned from injury to make his first appearance since December.
Jack Butland pulled off a good save in the final 10 minutes as he stretched to keep out a strike from Kyosuke Tagawa.
At the other end, Clark denied Silva a second of the afternoon as he got a strong hand on a powerful shot from the striker in the final minutes of the match.
It was an impressive display from Clement’s side, with Rangers now turning their attention to a trip to Kilmarnock in the league on Wednesday evening.
