The young Gers side were 1-0 down at the break but strikes from Ross McCausland and a last minute goal from Ciaran Dickson saw them to victory.
Aberdeen had the first chance of the match on the 9th minute as Michael Ruth headed just wide from a corner.
It was a quiet start to the game for the Gers as they looked for the break through. On the 21st minute Josh McPake drove forward avoiding the challenges of the Aberdeen midfielders before finding the run of Zac Butterworth on the right.
Butterworth delivered a cross into the box but it was turned behind for a corner by Luke Turner.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring with less than 10 minutes of the first-half remaining. Dean Campbell found Lloyd Robertson inside the box and he shot low across goal to give Aberdeen the lead.
Rangers almost responded instantly as Dapo Mebude cut in from the right and drilled a powerful shot towards goal but it was blocked by the feet of Aberdeen goalkeeper Sam Jackson.
Aberdeen threatened to double their lead early in the second-half as Connor McLennan’s cross met Seb Ross in the box but he touched his effort just wide of the target.
The Gers responded up the other end as they looked for the equaliser with the ball breaking at the edge of the box for Murray Miller but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
Graeme Murty was forced into a change early in the second half as Josh McPake took a knock and was replaced by Ross McCausland with 53 minutes played.
It was the substitute McCausland who drew Rangers level just five minutes after coming on as he picked up the ball on the edge of the box and had time to curl a superb strike into the top corner of the net.
The 16-year-old almost had a second shortly after as Kane Ritchie-Hosler picked out his run but McCausland’s shot at goal was blocked well by Sam Jackson in the Aberdeen goal.
McCausland had another shot at goal on the 83rd minute as he curled another strike towards goal but this time it drifted just over the target.
The Gers did get the winner in the last minute of the game as Murray Miller played the ball to Ciaran Dickson who drilled a low shot beyond Sam Jackson.
