Player Biography
Laura signed her first professional deal in the summer of 2023 alongside Mia McAulay, having made her breakthrough to the first team at the end of the previous campaign.
The striker is another product of the club’s youth academy, having progressed through the ranks, winning the league title at youth level for the Gers at both Under-16s and Under-18s.
The youngster is now a member of the first-team setup, and she netted her first goal in professional football on the opening day of the 2023/24 season, finding the scoresheet in a 6-1 win over Spartans.
The 18-year-old has also been capped for Scotland at U17 level, making her debut in a 9-0 victory over Macedonia in March 2022.
Laura enjoyed a fantastic six-month spell with Motherwell in the second half of 2023/24 as she continued an impressive rise in a first professional contract in senior football.
Indeed, the forward hit the ground running straight away with a goal on her debut before going on to net on a further eight occasions in just 12 appearances overall.
Her form also saw her named as the youngest-ever player to win the SWPL player of the month award as she claimed the accolade at just 17-years-old in April 2024 for her showings.
In the most recent season, Berry again spent time at Motherwell, having joined up with the SWPL club on an initial season-long loan following Rangers’ Champions League exploits. Impressing once again the Gers opted to secure the striker’s future long term by tying her down to a new contract until summer 2028.
She continued with her time at K-Park but on deadline day in January 2025 was recalled by the Light Blues to provide striker competition and cover for the remainder of the campaign. She has since gone on to become a fully established first time member of Leanne Crichton’s squad ahead of the 25/26 season.
Another who shone under Crichton’s guidance, Berry enjoyed a real breakthrough campaign for Rangers during last season. She scored her first Old Firm goal during the November meeting at Ibrox, before scoring in every round as the team reached the Sky Sports Cup final, including a derby day double in the semi-final win.
Scoring 27 goals in 36 outings she was named the club’s young player of the year, Berry was then rewarded with a first call-up to the Scotland A squad following the conclusion of the season, before then taking the number nine jersey at the club for the new campaign ahead
