Player Biography
The striker became the fourth signing of the summer transfer window in July 2023, joining the club from London City Lionesses.
Born in Edinburgh, the forward joined local junior side Hutchison Vale before moving to fellow capital side Spartans, firing in an impressive goal tally of 42 goals in 54 appearances in three seasons with the club.
Her form saw her seal a move to Hibernian before a move to Celtic was to follow in 2016, with her goal rate continuing to flourish with 64 goals in 98 appearances.
She was also the only player to score against every team in the 2019/20 SWPL season, winning both the SWF Scottish Cup and the SWPL Cup during her time in Scotland.
Ewens’ time down south began in 2021 when she made the switch to Women’s Championship side Birmingham City, where she spent a season with the Midlands club before agreeing to join her former side in July last year and finding the target on 12 occasions in 19 outings for the London club.
The forward has also represented her country at both Under-17 and Under-19 level and was also called up to the Scotland senior side for the first time in April 2023 but missed out on an appearance in the camp due to injury.
Ewens featured on 30 occasions for Rangers in her first season, scoring on eight occasions as well as providing three assists for her teammates in 12 starts. She helped Jo Potter’s team to a domestic cup double as they won the Sky Sports and Scottish Cup.
The striker was also handed a first-ever Scotland cap in May 2024, appearing as a substitute in a goalless draw over Serbia in UEFA European Championship qualifying.
It has been a frustrating time since for the forward, having only appeared once in the entire 24/25 campaign due to multiple injuries. Her sole outing saw her come off the bench as the Gers began their Scottish Cup campaign last season in emphatic fashion with a win over Westdyke, with the striker grabbing a brace off the bench.
She signed a new one-year deal with the club in June 2025 as she battled her way back to full fitness during the season, before agreeing to an extension at the end of the season in Glasgow, with the club hopeful that she will make a return to the pitch soon.
